Polo Trade Finance management team consists of experts in structured trade finance, with an emphasis on the use of letters of credit and guarantees to facilitate the movement of goods from one country to another.  Our team has worked on transactions all over the world including Asia, Australia, Africa, The US, and Europe.  

Alex Silver is an experienced professional in marketing and selling trade finance solutions.  For the past number of  years Alex has run his own trade finance company.  During this time, his company has worked with a number of banks and financial institutions to arranging financing for trading companies and importers. He has opened a number of new markets for his company in the Middle East, Europe, and West Africa.





Polo Trade Finance maintains a professional and dedicated processing team.  A member of our staff is available 13 hours a day, 6 days a week, allowing us to respond the needs of our clients, whether they are in New Zealand or California.   We emphasize attention to detail, clear communication, and understanding our client's business and their needs.  Documents are always processed in a timely and clear manner, allowing our client companies to meet their deadlines.


Mr. Sherman Blitstein, the head of the department has over 10 years' experience in commercial and residential lending, and extensive knowledge in trade finance instruments such as LC, SBLC, Guarantees, PreAdvice/RWA, analysis of borrower financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, debt service coverage, credit reviewing 3rd party reports such as appraisal, title report, escrow instructions, environmental.

Mr. Sherman holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration  from California State University Northridge. 

Mr. Nicolas Salmon, the sales manager for Latin America & Spain, has over 5 years' experience in business development and marketing of the Latin markets. Nicolas has lived and worked in Mexico and managed distributors in various sectors, in most of South Americas countries. A combination of empathy and family roots to the Latin people, gives Nicolas the ability to deliver them the best products, support and service.

Nicolas holds a B.A in International Trade from the university Paris 1 - Pantheon Sorbonne.






Polo Trade Finance maintains strong working relationships with a number of senior consultants and experts in the International Trade Finance industry. While not members of the core Polo Trade Finance team, they provide experience, knowledge and connections that can make the difference between a successful transaction and an unsuccessful one. We regularly avail ourselves of our consultants, and cooperate with them on many of our more complicated or niche transactions.
